Soccer mom life

SoccerI just realized that September is Youth Soccer Month.  So I’m celebrating soccer mom life this last day of the month.

Isn’t it amazing how many of us are soccer moms these days?  When I was growing up, I didn’t know much about soccer.  Now I love cheering on my kids at the soccer field!

What is it about soccer that has made it such a fast-growing sport in America?  I think one of the greatest things about it is the ability for everyone to get involved.  Kids just need to be willing to run and kick a ball to begin.  And anyone can improve on those skills with practice if they’re dedicated.

Since my husband and I didn’t know much about soccer when our boys started playing, we all had to learn fast.  We were confused when we started hearing about things like offsides and corner kicks.

We got a few books for our kids, and we all read through them to understand the rules of the game.  This one was helpful: The Everything Kids’ Soccer Book: Rules, techniques, and more about your favorite sport! (The Everything® Kids Series).

And now my soccer mom duties are calling.  I’m off to the soccer field – we have a game for one child and a practice for another!
