I’ve seen so many lovely fall banners on Pinterest that I decided to create my own. It was a fun and easy project – and an inexpensive way to add some autumn decor to our living room mantle!
I picked out a few options of fall scrapbook paper (29 cents each at 50% off) and got a set of alphabet stencil cards ($3.99), some ribbon ($1.99), and some craft paint in antique gold ($.76). So the whole project was just $8.19!
I started by measuring and cutting a triangle template out of scrap card stock and then used it to cut the scrapbook paper. I sponge painted the letters onto the paper to keep the paint light.
When the paint dried, I realized the paint did not show up on the chevron-printed paper I used for two letters. I had another option, so I redid those two letters, then punched the holes and hung them on the ribbon.
I just tucked the ends of the ribbon under the heavier items already on the mantle. I love how it looks in front of our fireplace!
